Mark Hepperlen on Medlogix’s national Professional Review Services

As SVP of Operations for Professional Services, Mark Hepperlen spearheads the operations for Medlogix’s national Professional Review Services, which include IME, Peer Review, and Medical Records Review.

What is your role as the Senior Vice President of Operations for Professional Service?

I oversee operations enterprise wide for physician services such as Independent Medical Examinations (IMEs) and Peer Reviews for First and Third Party Auto and Workers’ Compensation. We have three operating sites in Hamilton, New Jersey, Southfield, Michigan, and Minneapolis, Minnesota.

My goal is to increase the quality of our services and user experience of our system while also focusing on increasing productivity and efficiency. The clients needs come first so those are the main drivers for us.

What are the advantages of Medlogix’s approach to Professional Review Services?

Medlogix provides a user-friendly, one-stop coordinated source for all the services needed to order IMEs. MyMedlogix is designed so that multiple people can work on the IME service delivery at the same time rather than being handled one step at a time. For example, one team member can be working on scheduling, another on transportation, and a third on obtaining medical records, which reduces turnaround time and improves efficiency.

In addition, Medlogix offers a full suite of medical claim processing services such as Bill Review, Utilization Management, and more. For our customers who also use us for those services, the adjuster gets the advantage of one-stop shopping and does not have to order the IME from one vendor, have another vendor interpret those outcomes, and then enter the results into their system. By working with Medlogix, bills adjudicate appropriately against the IME outcome so all services are coordinated for the adjuster.

How do you customize or individualize your approach for each client?

Medlogix customizes our services based on state jurisdiction and client preference. We work in partnership with our customers to provide tailored solutions that meet their needs, and we identify areas of opportunity to improve service delivery.
